Ngā mihi o Mahuru Māori!
Today marks the second week of Mahuru Māori - and the first day of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2021!
At Nicholson Consulting, we engage in a range of initiatives to uplift and support te ao Māori across the year. A few of these initiatives include:
Scheduling full team training days to learn about Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Aotearoa’s history
Working on projects that action and embed Māori Data Sovereignty Principles (like Thriving Rangatahi, which we worked on alongside Te Rourou, Vodafone Aotearoa Foundation)
Engaging Kūwaha who host weekly te reo Māori classes during office hours for our whole organisation

We’re always looking for ways we can challenge ourselves to grow our te ao Māori capability as individuals, as a team and as a business. At the request of our staff, we recently worked with a translator to create a resource that will support our team to use a wider range of te reo Māori in email environments, which was incredibly well received.
To celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2021, we’ve decided to give the full resource away as a koha and make it available to anyone who wants to enhance their te reo Māori capability. Check out the extended resource below and, if you find it valuable, feel free to download it directly to your computer.
We’d love to know what you and / or your organisation are doing to celebrate Mahuru Māori! Please let us know on LinkedIn or send us an email at hello@nicholson.co.nz. For bonus points use one of the greetings you see in the resource below!
Kia kaha te reo Māori. Mauri ora.
