Internship 2026/27

Nicholson Consulting is offering 10-week paid internships this summer for people who are curious about data, research, evaluation and creating positive change in Aotearoa.

We’re looking for motivated, values-led people who want to gain practical experience and contribute to work that supports a more equitable Aotearoa.

This year, we have three potential internship projects:

▪️ One focused on AI assisted Māori Data Governance capability

▪️ Two focused on Unlocking the Potential of Disability Data

Tangata whenua are warmly welcome and encouraged to apply.

We also warmly encourage applications from people with disabilities and people with lived experience or strong connections to these kaupapa.

You don’t need to come from a traditional data science background. While an interest in data is important, we welcome applicants from a range of disciplines, experiences, and pathways, whether you’re a student, recent graduate, career changer, or someone with a less conventional journey into data science, analytics, research, or evaluation.

Candidate requirements

☑️ Be a New Zealand or Australian citizen or resident, or have a valid work visa for full-time work in NZ

☑️ Be available from November to February (noting there will be a Christmas closure period, and we can offer some flexibility)

☑️ Be located in Wellington during this time
